1.4 Procure, install and activate the equipment

Description

Before purchasing equipment, PA partners must discuss and agree on common DRM&FSE educational resources at WB HEIs (labs, libraries, e-library and flexible ICT learning platform), in consultation with partners P7-P11. There are several aspects of this activity:

  1. Mobility and virtual mobility of teachers and students in the region. Overall 6 laboratories will be placed at P1-P6 HEIs and each laboratory will have identical conditions for the flow of lecturers and students. Since all lectures have practical and technological nature and require the verification of results in the laboratory and on the field, these laboratories will provide the necessary basic infrastructure. In addition to the hardware part, the laboratories are also equipped with the software that is used strictly for training students for planning evacuation in case of a hazard. Computers are necessary to provide the infrastructure that is able to support the processes of modelling, while GPS devices, camera and laser handheld measurer are used to verify the field results that the students should obtain in practical exercises of modelling.
  2. Availability of materials. Literature that will be developed under the project and literature in general should be electronically available to students, allowing them access to high quality materials. Procurement of a number of e-readers for the students, who use K-FORCE library in the laboratory and an on-line library, is meant for all students covered by the program and will be available from all locations covered by the internet.
  3. Ensuring the sustainability and continuity in education by raising it to a higher level. More complex educational systems, devices of greater precision and practical educational laboratory where students are trained to work on the instruments used in professional practice are introduced in order to support the production of the doctoral theses and the achievement of the set educational goals.

Implementers of this activity are P1-P6, where monitoring and coordination is done by P7 and P8. Each WBC HEIs Partner is conducting its Procurement Procedures. P2-P6 have same equipment specifications, P1 in addition has specific laboratory equipment necessary for PhD students education.
